A quick Sunday lesson about putting country over party
Please read this GOP platform for President Eisenhower's 1956 presidential campaign. In fact, find yourself a cup of coffee, tea or even adult beverage and read this slowly, tasting each word carefully.
Our great President Dwight D. Eisenhower has counseled us further: "In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people's money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative."

These days, this platform is much like our current POTUS's, which in my mind, makes it so moderate that it divorces itself from our current political landscape. Ike's agenda, like its counterpart in the current administration, is one of progress and security built on our values and in many ways, is the great American narrative that I grew up on.
Americans deserve an economy that works for everyone—not just for the wealthy and the well-connected. But our system has been rigged against the American people. Democrats believe that it is a moral and an economic imperative that we support working families by rebuilding the American middle class for the 21st century, making sure this time that everyone can make it and thrive, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, national origin, age, or ZIP code.

If we must have political parties (I despise the thought of it) then they need to stop splitting our nation for their own selfish pursuit of power. Without the knowledge, hard work, persistence and ethics of such a platform, the US would have failed long ago. It's leadership like this, based on real values, knowledge and courage that made and sustains it, not the BS culture wars designed by selfish, crude, politicos and marketers that artificially separate our nation.
The Republican Party supports an immigration policy which is in keeping with the traditions of America in providing a haven for oppressed peoples, and which is based on equality of treatment, freedom from implications of discrimination between racial, nationality and religious groups, and flexible enough to conform to changing needs and conditions.

The GOP would do well to relocate their soul since no part of the current, MAGA dominated party would be accepted by IKE. The left, stop squabbling between yourselves and unite over an achievable agenda. So far with the current administration, you're doing a bit better but it's already showing strain. Better yet, those still with ethics from any party... unite and move our nation, ethically forward.
Democrats believe that the fight for universal values should start at home, but it can't end there. Global democratic backsliding and the erosion of human rights put our interests and values at risk. That's why the reinvention of American leadership demands we put democratic values at the core of our foreign policy, with renewed strategies and tools for a new era.

The word "United" in the name of our nation, is crucial to its success. If we just stop making everything political and work TOGETHER towards moral, common-sense solutions, the US will achieve more than even our founders imagined. As you can see from the included quotes, it really doesn’t matter about party so long and leaders have the courage to put American values at the core of everything we do together, as a nation. What matters are the sacred values bequeathed to us by our brilliant and courageous founders.
To close, I offer a dare: dust off your courage and fact-check what politicians say, and more importantly, do. Then apply our founding principles to the truth. If you read in a similar fashion that I do, you won’t find much difference between remarkable, iconic GOP or DEM leadership. The moral of the story… it is a requirement of US citizenship to put country over party, and only the politicians who do this, are worth support.
