Catching up after a mostly off week
Welcome to the weekend TAT followers. It’s been a bit of an off week here, mostly due to being out of town, babysitting grandchildren while their parents are off on a much deserved, few days of holiday. Few things are better than playing with and acting like, five and seven years olds.
Today, I’ll touch on a couple of topics, as I wait for the din of playing children to begin again, as they wake up.
Well, it is inescapable that I must say a few words about the debate last Thursday. The left is trying to find their footing after a far less than stellar performance by President Biden and the verbosity of a former liar-in-chief is being celebrated by what used to be the so-called “right” but now has become the extreme-right. As a spoiler alert, the bottom line is still simple for me and honest, values focused Americans, “I’d vote for Joe Biden in a coma before allowing our nation to fall back into the hands of a traitorous, morally bankrupt and corrupt narcissist. As most of you know by now, it is not because I align with a political party, but because I hold all politicians to the standards set by our founders. Yes, those same founders that today’s SCOTUS and the Republicans in office, are attempting to jettison from the US ship of state.
Americans that wish to keep our government between our constitutional guardrails, simply have but one choice and that is pretty much anyone, but today’s MAGA controlled GOP. This does not let the DNC off the hook by any means. I have nothing but disgust for how inept that they have been since the late 80’s at campaigning. Considering that I know a thing or two about influence campaigns, I would rate the DNC as a D- at effectively engaging the American people. Were they not the only hope in November, to save our republic, I would follow family tradition and stay out of what most see as public, “political discourse.” This year is not about politics though, it’s about fighting the Civil War that MAGA began.
President Biden is in my opinion, not only an effective president and his policies are much like one of my favorites, President Eisenhower, the ultimate principled conservative, but he is an effective narrator of where are nation is and needs to be, in order to survive as a republic. Today’s GOP, with folks like Karl Rove and Brad Parscale employing Russian influence operation-styled support for the party, requires that we all become Modern Day Minutemen and Women to rally to the cause. The rest of the party, is relatively hopeless in support of his narratives about “fighting for the soul of our nation.” The DNC itself is still campaigning like it is 1990 while that what we are experiencing is Narrative Warfare, the core specialty in my national security career.
The discussion on Narrative Warfare though is long, so I will simply drop a link here to a podcast with the Lincoln Project in 2022, for those wishing more information.
The bottom line here is that this is but one hiccup in a long campaign and it is far too early for Chicken Little’s frenzied panic, just quite yet.
SCOTUS, the Supreme Court of the United States, continues to toss the constitution under the bus in support of oligarchy, states rights, the separation of church and state and generally speaking, the destruction of all that our founders found critical to the survival of our republic. I will take just a moment here to be blunt about something; Mitch McConnell’s manipulation of SCOTUS appointments has done more to undermine our constitution, than any elected member of Congress, since the Civil War. Chief Justice John Roberts, who really has little power other than the public forum, refuses to address the grotesque ethics violations of justices, Thomas, Alito and the three Trump additions, Comey Barrett, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. This court’s legacy will be the worst since the court of the Dred Scott decision, pre-Civil War.
Red states, with these far right justices sitting, are imposing the most un-American violations of the Establishment Clause on all US citizen’s by imposing their religious views on all Americans. I live in Texas where Greg Abbott and his Texas Taliban GOP violate multiple Federally guaranteed rights daily, and all that we can do, is wait for this blasphemous SCOTUS, to rubber-stamp their intransigence. Ignoring the basic civil rights in favor of oligarchism and White Christian Nationalism is very much the Confederacy, 2.0.
Unrestrained challenges to the constitution are tantamount to a civil war, 2.0, which I wrote about recently in detail. The threat violence as well, is ever-present from the MAGA crowd. January 6th was nothing more than the first major battle, complete with weapons, strategy, extremist ideologies and more.
The wars in Ukraine and Israel, still are claiming thousands of lives and rendering the lives of millions uninhabitable. Both are at the behest of the new Axis of Evil, in hierarchical order, Xi, Putin, the theocratic terrorist regime in Tehran and N. Korea. Make no mistake about it, this budding alliance has their heart set on global domination. Xi will be the primary benefactor and in many respects, the global emperor should they succeed. Today’s GOP, who murdered thousands of our allies in Ukraine by supporting Putin via withholding critical aid, are in fact, supporting this entire Axis, simply by supporting Putin.
To make matters worse in Gaza and Israel, Israeli PM, Bibi Netanyahu, is one of those extreme-right-wing national leaders that is perpetuating war for his own personal benefit. Like Trump, Bibi is an indicted felon attempting to stay in power, to stay out of prison. Innocent Israelis and Palestinians are the victims of mostly him, Hamas/ Hezbollah, Iran, Putin and Xi. For the record, all are genocidal leaders and entities.
