Thank you for shining a bright light on this crisis. You are correct, it is hard to look at and read about but we must inform ourselves and take action.
Thank you! I hope to figure out the mechanisms of how the data centers ruin the drinking water, and what, if any, circumstances such as river vs. deep well sources or supply amount maximize that threat.
In Minnesota we are getting one in Lakeville where I think we need more housing and maybe here in Eagan’s industrial corridor. Eagan, my little city, which has poorly described what all is happening with this new “huge warehouse plus.”
This city keeps us in the dark about most things.
The police here have drones big enough to have passengers but denied having any when I called. At least the nightly flight by where I live stopped after my inquiry. It was kinda funny when one monster drone of theirs or whomever almost hit a giant dying oak in the yard as it got closer to the living room where I was seated.
Eagan is at least allowing building houses for vets and their families here so it’s not all folks who take themselves too seriously here- just an over representation. After I C E ruined some dining out here, I hope things got more blue.
We had a lot of young families out on side walks here for the last No King’s Day in Eagan. The super elderly on one Minneapolis sidewalk corner with their rollators and tiny handmade posters stole my heart though. Think of them.. Their inner strength.
As always, I am grateful for your insights from your part of our nation. I value these first-hand reports as that often within our own news media, reports like yours do not elevate to the national level. Americans, regardless of politics are experiencing this unethical secrecy and not reacting well to their own neighbors sitting in city and county government, "selling them out" and hiding it. As you so well noted, secrecy is the "watchword" for everything about the enormous push to implement a whole new foundational element of our critical infrastructure. I am originally small town midwestern too and know first-hand, that such behavior from gov officials... doesn't sit well with constituents. The drones are also quite disturbing.
We must move forward with a carefully assessed, long term adaptation to the AI future, not have them imposed on us in a manner that as this essay expresses, serious harm to everyone, regardless of personal politics. We are Americans and have a right to know what our government is doing with our money and especially... our future.
Thanks again and yes, Elderly folks getting involved (myself included) stirs my heart as well.

Thank you so very kindly, Laura. You are absolutely correct… we must never look away from truth, and for our own wellbeing.
