Happy New Year to one and all
Happy New Year to all,
As noted in the previous TAT post, 2023, despite all of the sensationalism in most media, is beginning with an air of “Cautious Optimism.” Today’s post is more along the lines of tossing out some beginning of the year notes, administrative items and a brief look at some of the primary interests for our new year.
First and foremost, I can’t thank, all of you enough for the support and recommendations to others regarding TAT. It was a bit intimidating, taking a chance on my own site and presenting folks with a different perspective regarding our most serious national security threats. It’s your support and sharing of our site that is making the nation and the world a little better prepared to deal with those threats. This serves not only to make TAT a success but more importantly, continues to enflame my passion for telling the truth about subjects, most only see via news with a political or ideological bias. Our world, hence, our threats are far too complex for solutions that are exclusively… ideological.
As that TAT only began the last quarter of 2022, I am continually fidgeting with how to improve your reading experience. My goal… bring you understanding that’s enlightening and in a manner that it fits into your busy schedules. Writing too much on posts may demand more of your time during the week than you have time for. One of the solutions that I will begin trying over the next month or so, will seek to bring you more succinct and shorter daily posts. This will bring a couple more changes:
· I will write a more in-depth piece on current issues of concern a couple of times a month.
· These longer pieces will help to distill complexity into a coherent narrative about certain or integrated threats.
· Some of these longer pieces may also be presented in a series or a handful of related posts.
· Finally, these deeper dives into topics, will be available to paid subscribers
o Everything else, daily posts for example will remain free to all free subscribers. This simply means that 95% of TAT will remain free of charge
· Since I am also a consultant, I just can’t offer deeper analysis for free that others pay for. Still, these handful of deeper products on TAT will be available for TAT’s, industry-low rate of, $5 USD per month or $50 per year.
Next, I will be adding occasional guest authors. I’ve had the high honor of meeting extraordinary individuals throughout my career that expertly provide insights that I have long depended on. I will invite them to share their unique expertise with you. Unless their work is part of one of the new, deep dives, there will be no cost for their expertise.
I will continue make recommendations regarding excellent media sources. I want to slip in one here today for the new year. I am a long-time fan of FTN, Face-the-Nation. I record and watch this show without fail. Margaret Brennan is in my opinion, the best interviewer for getting at facts, without bias. She is unrelenting and professional, not to mention, exquisitely prepared for the topics each Sunday morning.
As it comes to threats, today’s FTN’s new year’s show, this morning, is not to be missed. Today, FTN addressed four of our most difficult subjects that are at the heart of our national security. Bottom line… I heard the remarkable guests suggest cautious optimism over the long run for the US and the RBIO/ rules-based-international order. Still, it is cautious optimism. Please, see the embedded link to watch today’s show. The information and expert opinions shared are priceless for all.
Last but not least, the more honestly informed about our most serious threats, the safer we all are. This includes our allies and partners around the world. I cannot imagine a better outcome for our cautiously optimistic approach to 2023.
Thanks again to all of you for your continuing support and shares of TAT. You are making a difference.
Happiest New Year’s wishes to you and yours,
Paul
