How this works

For those who have not read my LinkedIn work or published work, please allow me to take a moment to talk about how I address national security threats in my posts.

First and foremost, after decades of experience in the national security community, most of those at a high level, I have a first-hand, working knowledge of many of our most pressing threats. Post military, I have been consulting, teaching, mentoring, analyzing tactics and strategies, innovating and informing. Now semi-retired, I can speak truth to power when and where lessons must be learned, based on experience, knowledge, wisdom and ethics. Politics, only play a role when for any reason, they embrace or embody a significant threat. That is the only time that I ever address, what most consider a political issue. The current issue of the former POTUS illegally possessing some of our most grave secrets, is one example, considering that merely possessing them post transition and in an unsecured location, is indefensibly a felony.

In the past, the way I operate is to take a look at the morning news, see which news is relevant to the threats our nation faces and write a short piece explaining how that news and the issue it pertains to, is relevant to US National Security.

Although the NSS, National Security Strategy, a product of the West Wing, NSC (National Security Council) is intended to be produced annually. Most times there is only one per every presidential election cycle. Our newest NSS is from March of 2021 and until it is completely finished, we operate on the NSS, IG or Interim Guidance. It is rare for mainstream news to address this when they write news articles so what I will offer is a better understanding of what the news means… relative to our declared threats. These are both foreign and domestic threats. We must remember that all threats have an impact on others as well. Like the proverbial tossing a pebble into the pond, every pebble creates ripples all across the pond, not just where you tossed it in.

Of importance, just because I write and explain, does not make my knowledge and interpretation infallible. This is why I encourage participation. Opinions are quite welcome and even more so if challenges can include links to credible sources of information. There are no dumb questions, and I will try to engage as much as possible during the middle of the day or as time permits. That way we all learn together.

I hope this helps everyone better understand TAT. This is exciting and a little daunting for me. As a life-long optimist, I am erring on the side of exciting. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey with me and other subscribers.
