A short TAT for you today,

When it comes to traitors, I do not mince words. I don’t do this for political reasons, but for national security reasons. If you are sensitive politically, today’s short post has a high likelihood of triggering those who consider themselves, “right of center.” Please be warned.

Due to a lot of time talking with my daughter today, who lives in Northern Israel and a serious family health problem in my wife’s side of the family, my focus today has often been elsewhere. Tomorrow I will write again, another full report, on the now more tragic situation in Gaza.

Again, all of this suffering is at the hands of a barbaric, immoral, terrorist organization called Hamas. All possible effort must be expended to protect innocent lives on both sides. Israel and countless other nations are focused on this, along with countless other NGOs/ Non-Governmental Organizations like, The Red Cross, Red Crescent and countless more. All are bending over backwards to assist in what most of the Arab states refuse to do for their brethren. Egypt and Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, the neighboring states have already rejected help. The Gulf States, the same. Hamas doesn’t give a damn and is actively holding their own people hostage too… as human shields.

More to follow tomorrow, including a few notes about how Putin, the Ayatollah’s and Xi are benefitting from this Hamas-inflicted barbarism.

Now, let’s get to Jim Jordan.

If you’ve read TAT very long, you already know just how much I despise Jim Jordan, for both professional and personal reasons. For newcomers, first a brief summary of my assessment of him based on personal reasons.

Jordan lives right outside of my hometown of Urbana, Ohio, in one of the nation’s most obscenely gerrymandered districts. Ironically, my Texas congressman, Tony Gonzalez is in another. My small hometown, the county seat of Champaign County was during my youth represented by a congressman who actually legislated as a “principled conservative,” working across the aisle to advance some of our nation’s important legislation, especially in regard to Civil Rights.

In sixteen years, Jordan has never once passed a bill that he sponsored. Jordan, an extremist in every sense of the word, is now within 20 votes of becoming Speaker of the House of Representatives, two steps away from the presidency. As of today, every single GOP congressman but 20, voted to make him Speaker, with zero evidence that he’s anything but an overpaid public servant, only capable of Seditious Conspiracy and causing trouble, exclusively based on conspiracy theories.

The January 6th Committee’s final report mentions him at least a dozen times and NOT to absolve him of responsibility. He was a leader for the big lie, despite knowing it patently false, and sat mum. He knew full well most of the upcoming January 6th armed insurrection, intended to overthrow the government and constitution of the United States of America. He conspired with Trump and his thugs to overthrow the election and invalidate the votes of more than 81 million Americans, therefore validating our constitutionally guaranteed rights. Seventy-Four million Americans were brainwashed by a combination of Putin and far-right media like FOX, NewsMax, OAN, Breitbart etc., via a variety of tactics I have only seen on battlefields and in unethical marketing.

So, let me say this in the plainest language possible: If your congressman voted for Jordan and you still continue to vote for that congressman, you are acknowledging that you are in support of a brutal oligarchical, undemocratic representative that tried to overthrow the US government. If you can square this with your conscience, so be it, but count me your sworn adversary. Yes, all military and elected officials swear an oath to “protect and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

No sitting GOP congressman nor senator will speak out demanding investigation of January 6th nor against the big lie. All have in fact attempted to obstruct it. Jordan signed off on a document denying the results of the 2020 presidential election and now wishes to lead the same government that he supported an armed insurrection against.

Please don’t give me all the absolute BS about principled conservatives either. Either they no longer exist or are too cowardly so speak up and demand their party back. When people ask me, what party do I follow, my answer is, “none.” I despise all big money parties and especially the SCOTUS sellout of campaign finance with the now infamous, “Citizens United” decision. My personal frame of reference is very much what used to be called, an “Eisenhower Republican.” In modern terms, that makes me a Joe Biden voter.

If you don’t believe me, do yourself a favor and follow the embedded link to Eisenhower’s 1956 platform. Eisenhower Republicans no longer exist. Also, for the record, as a close review of Eisenhower and his vision for our future is what I personally term, “practical progressivism.” He was intent on moving our nation forward in small steps so as to not shock the system. Like our founders, he was indeed a progressive on social issues, citizen’s rights and the national unity that helped rid the world of the fascism, that his party now proudly embraces.

The only two Republicans worthy of my respect are Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Although their worldview is not mine, I respect that they at least stood against fascism and the armed attempt at destroying American democracy. The rest in the Trump era, are beyond my forgiveness. Based on family tradition, I have always stayed out of public politics and religious discussions. I now have no choice in the MAGA era, because if I did not, I wouldn’t be honoring my oath to the military and our constitution.

The bottom line to this piece is that Jim Jordan is a massive national security risk, an overtly dishonest fascist, based on his own publicly stated views and most of all, like his party, unworthy of even performing the job of dogcatcher, in my hometown of Urbana, Ohio.

Please, if you insist on voting for the GOP, call them and demand that they grow a spine and google, “principled conservative.” It will be their first exposure to what it means.
