I am curious, How does preventing dead people and non-citizens from voting suddenly become "Trump's voter suppression executive order"? I would have thought you of all people would applaud efforts by the Federal Government to protect the sanctity and integrity of our electoral process. It is, for example, well known that 100 percent of cemetery residents in Cook County, Illinois, always vote Democrat. One would at least want to verify their residency status on a recurring basis.
Seriously, a careful reading of the US Constitution clearly shows that elections are a shared responsibility between the Federal Government and the individual States. However, when the States prove unable or unwilling to conduct an honest election free from blatant fraud and corruption does not the Federal Government have the obligation to step in and fix the problem? First of all, I would like you to show us where all this fraud and illegal voting is.
Secondly, only congress, not the federal government nor the White House can make select changes to state voting laws. There is no fraud other than what Musk did for the GOP in the last election. Even the miserable Heritage Foundation couldn’t find it and found less than 100 cases in the past few decades. If it’s not broke, why change it, especially so close to our election?
I don’t believe that anyone in the GOP these days has a right to discuss integrity anyway. Especially not this subversive republican-led congress, White House or cabinet. The list of broken laws and unconstitutional actions, is a mile long. This isn’t a poke at the GOP. It’s simply stating the reported facts.
I will trust the American people, not our current government.
It’s time to put a wall around the beltway and not let any politician out until they renounce every single lobbying dollar, regardless of party. Next, serious and enforceable campaign finance changes for politicians and donors.
