The NFL and media have been cowed into “obeying in advance” as Tim Snyder would phrase it. Let’s emphasize the point contrasting this with a school or mass shooting. No flags at half staff, no moment of silence. No public outcry but for the pro forma “thoughts and prayers” bullshit. Let’s not even get into the Colin Kaepernick taking a knee stuff.
Well said as always, Paul. Agreed, but then again, we should never expect any kind of equivalency when one "side" is fascism" and the other just a normal political party, incompetent as they may be. One side is a false reality and the other, conspiracy theories and whimsy. The cold hard reality is that there can be no compromise unless both sides see a common reality.
Don't forget the 2 dead black boys found hanging from trees in Mississippi in the last couple of days (the word "payback" coomes to mind). Apparently it was "suicide". And these aren't the first lynchings oops "suicides" if black men who chose to hang themselves from a tree as the means to take their own lives. I only know about it from reading Khahil Greene's and PissedOfBartenders substack post- haven't seen anything in the mainstream media.

As you know, I could hardly be more frustrated with the mainstream media’s willful cowardice and caution of the White House, Republican-led Congress and the Republican Party itself. This is why I believe Substack and similar platforms to be a critical element of defense against the global wave of fascism, we are currently experiencing. We are at a moment in world history where everyone’ will be tested as to whether we have a moral spine or not.
