TAT readers,
As I discussed yesterday, I’m on an abbreviated schedule this week so today is but a short history lesson from pre-war Nazi Germany, that will apply to US politics, if this Big BS Bill passes.
On this date in 1934, Hitler ordered the murders of many of his closest allies in the SA, Hitler’s Storm Troopers, and the Nazi Party, that he either felt threatened by, or that he believed would deter Germans from supporting his nascent rise to power. Due to their open street violence against German opposition, especially Jews and the left, he felt that they would raise too much opposition to the Nazi Party as he solidified power in Germany. Those murders beginning on June 30th, 1934 and ending on July 2nd, was called in English, “Night of the Long Knives.” Like Trump, he made up a conspiracy theory that his most trusted friends and party members, were planning a revolt. This gave him the justification to murder hundreds of his fellow Nazis.
If all of this sounds familiar to what the Trump/ GOP regime is doing today to our nation, it is because it’s true. Masked, often unidentified ICE and related entities in the street, supported by the military and other, yet to be identified participants are not yet as violent and uncontrolled as the SA, but their failure to follow the law while intentionally intimidating all citizens, should be a wakeup call to honest Americans. This does not include those who voted for Trump and his GOP.
The story has several lessons for our nation, now under imminent threat of a fascist overturning of our constitutional republic. I use the word fascist intentionally simply because, this version of the Republican Party, meets the definition via their actions. I do not use the word as a slight. The first lesson is that personalities such as Hitler’s and wannabe Hitlers like Trump all follow a very similar and long historically applied, “playbook.” Trump has had a significant interest in Hitler, most of his adult life. According to his first wife, he kept Hitler’s speeches on a nightstand next to his bed. His rhetoric and public mannerisms are Hitler’s. His Project 2025 180-Day Playbook is little different than Hitler’s in his early years as the German Chancellor.
The lesson that the GOP should learn before voting on their devastating for citizen’s Big BS Bill, is that the “Night of the Long Knives” is when Hitler purged all party leaders, that were not seen as loyal to the ideology of the Nazi Regime and especially, fanatically loyal to Hitler himself. This is also a pathetic parallel to the current Republican Party, and most prominently, the GOP-led Congress.
To wrap up this short history lesson, I am not calling Trump Hitler but the parallels to his intent, beliefs and strategy, is nearly synonymous with Hitler’s, with a little bit of Putin’s fascism mixed in. History may not exactly repeat itself, but only fools disregard the lessons. We are in very dangerous times my friends and soon, less than rabidly loyal Trumpists, will soon find out just how dangerous. The votes on his bill, will be seen as a litmus test of sorts, for all Republicans in congress and those like the Heritage Foundation, the authors of Project 2025, and their oligarchs, that support the MAGA GOP’s agenda.
In the entire Trump era, the GOP has not once, shown a moral spine and now, grovel at the feet of their Fascist leader who’s bromance with Putin, spells similar disaster for the world, just as Hitler’s Germany did in 1939. Our brainwashed family and friends still voting Republican, will not come to our rescue. They are incapable of seeing the world clearly and most remarkably, through any eyes but Trump’s, along with his influencers and oligarchs. We should be surprised what occurs in the coming months. The handwriting has been on the wall, since Trump’s descent down his escalator. His descent began our nation’s descent into the hell, that he and the Republican Party are imposing on all Americans.
That’s it my friends, a very brief but pertinent lesson.
My very best to all,
Paul

What do you recommend people do?
The resistance is fighting in every legal way. I’m seeing that the closer this bill comes to become law, many are becoming desperate and scared. Others are calling for more active possibly violent actions.
I know that this is meant as a historical perspective..still people need guidance.
