I won’t hold back my fury in this short essay about Musk’s massive spending and Russian influence operations, to save Texas Governor Greg Abbott and AG Ken Paxton. Nothing could be more un-Texan or un-American. These treason weasels and oligarchs have no place in any political office or position in our state or our nation. This essay may be about more about Texas, but I assure you, the national GOP is doing the same, from sea to shining sea. My criticism isn’t just for the politicians, oligarchs and Russian influence operations, it’s also about the treasonous MAGA voters who blindly support all of this. I don’t give a damn who is offended by this. They are supposedly adults and have had over a decade to “do their research,” and have run from it, as if it were a hungry lion chasing them at dinnertime. Like I said, I will not mince words in this short essay.
I have written in the past on all of these topics and in-depth. I will include links to those essays where they apply. No need to read them though. Today’s blistering account, requires little background.
A little background
Okay everyone, let’s get right into it. Here in Texas, the GOP has been exclusively in control of Texas politics for over thirty years, during which time they have corruptly stripped Texans of any semblance of a constitutional state, and protected no one but their favorite oligarchs. For example, high-profile names like Michael Dell, Elon Musk and of course, oil supermajors like Chevron and ExxonMobil, who almost exclusively support the TX GOP are at the top of the list. Then there are lesser, extreme right-wing Christian Nationalist billionaires like Tim Dunn and Faris Wilkes, who for all intents and purposes, control Texas Republican politics, now synonymous with MAGA. Not to be outdone and all across Texas, the oil industry almost exclusively supports the treasonous, unconstitutional and cruel TX GOP. They call it supporting “conservatism,” but apparently have no idea that their version of being conservative is actually, far-right violent extremism.
In that thirty years, they have employed all manner of tactics and strategies to convince former Texan conservatives that their current right-wing extremism, is somehow, “conservative.” GOP and conspiring Russian influence operators have made fools of those considering themselves good conservatives, and have instead conned them into being fake conservatives, and Christian Nationalists. These people are now fully brainwashed, incapable of seeing the false reality they identify with. That though is their problem, not ours. Enter here, Russian influence operations, in support of Trump, the GOP and soulless oligarchs like Elon Musk.
And now, here’s why I am so furious at the treasonous TX GOP. In September alone, the TX GOP dropped $200 million on trying to shore up Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton’s extraordinary unpopularity. Most of this came from the $190 million donation from Elon Musk, a known collaborator with both Putin and Xi. To make matters worse and just like the national GOP, Russian influence operations are supporting what many Texans call, “The Texas Taliban,” a.k.a. the TX GOP. Russian influence and the GOP are no strangers to each other and have covertly worked together at least since the 2016 election. After all, Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort was closely associated with high-level Russian oligarchs with direct access to Putin, and had been for years, including throughout the 2016 presidential campaign. Manafort was not alone.

Russia has been a constant collaborator with the Republican Party since well before the 2016 national elections, where they peaked. The Trump administration has unquestionably collaborated with Republican candidates and issues, as was evidenced in detail, in Volume 5 of the Russian Interference Report, commonly known as the “Mueller Report.” Volume 5 was the CI Report. In other words, the spies that catch foreign spies. Every one of its 966 pages is damning for the GOP, despite the immense amount of redactions.
Now individual Texan voices are being drowned out by massive donations from immoral billionaires like Musk, who profits from his relationships with both Putin and Xi. Just a few days ago Musk dramatically aided Russian troops operating against our ally Ukraine, by slowing down satellite services from Starlink, just prior to a Russian attack that killed civilians, including children. To pile on the pain to Ukraine’s courageous defenders, Trump then halted sanctions on Russian oil shortly after spending our tax dollars to buy Russian diesel. To rub salt in the wound, Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, praised Putin publicly calling him a “humanitarian.”
Politics are one thing, but having right-wing extremist oligarchs buying our elections for MAGA Republicans, who are also being supported by a known adversary like Russia… is treasonous. One person I’m not likely to ever forgive is Chief Justice John Roberts for his Citizens United decision that allowed human refuse like Musk to buy elections, and granting Trump immunity for Sedition and the January 6th insurrection. Like most veterans, I stand firm in my oath to the military to, “protect and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.” As we also say, “there is no expiration date on that oath when we retire.” Politicians also take the same oath and not one single Republican sitting in congress or here in Texas has honored that sacred oath! And yet, they run around waving flags, lying about the US being “born a Christian nation” all while supporting treason, corruption and cruelty with their votes.
I put every Texan still supporting these treason weasels in the same category. GOP voters are adults and are either too damn ignorant or willfully ignorant of truth, therefore rendering them treasonous as well. Yes, I fully understand that this is a harsh assessment but honest Americans, regardless of their political affiliations do understand this. Every Republican still actively supporting the Trump-era GOP, has had more than a decade to remove their heads from their hindquarters. They refused! My empathy for them is now non-existent, unless they do the right thing and help true patriots in fighting back against the current regime and their precious GOP. The so-called “resistance” is not a democratic effort. Simply put, it’s honest Americans and true patriots standing up against treasonous fake patriots.
Musk and Zuckerberg both are using their social media platforms to support the the administration and MAGA, via a long list of technical tactics like bots, moderation and plain old censorship. META, in the past three years alone has paid massive court ordered fines, fees and settlement costs in four huge cases, for abusing their subscribers.

I promised everyone a shorter essay today and so will wrap this one up with a short summary. Here in Texas and all across America, the GOP with Putin’s assistance has been “rigging” our elections for years. I’ve written on this extensively in the past and will include a link or two below for anyone interested. Right now, every odd is stacked against true patriots resisting our fascist and autocratic plutocracy called the GOP. The only way to win this midterm is to have an overwhelming presence at the polls. Earlier this year, Hungary was up against Viktor Orban’, a Putin protege who also held all the cards. Hungary overthrew him and his right-wing extremist, pro-Putin party at the polls. They did it with a massive voting turnout. That’s what democracy looks like, even when all the cards are stacked against us.
There is a great line in the cowboy classic movie, Tombstone and spoken by Kurt Russell who played Wyatt Earp. In one of the scenes where he begins taking revenge on the criminal cowboy gang responsible for the murder of one of his brothers and wounding of the other, he lets one of them go instead of killing him. He did this because he wanted the thug to go back to the rest of the gang to warn them. Earp’s spoken warning was the following; “You tell 'em I'm coming! And Hell's coming with me, you hear? Hell's coming with me!" That’s how most Americans feel about today’s GOP and their enablers for the midterms. We’ve had it with them and we are coming for them, every last one of them. You hear that Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton and the TX Taliban? We’re coming for you.
