Paul, great advice. But the DNC and special interest groups within the “party” will not learn or will not care. Just like we have a “nationalist narcissism” that has been brainwashing people going as far back as the 1960s, these groups have their own ideological narcissism that is impervious to facts and data as well as pissing off they very people they need.

I think you missed one key thing about Clinton and Obama beyond their great oratory…they were not afraid to fight on the domestic front and that is why the GOP really hated them! They would not lay down and be a punching bag like the DNC.

To see how far right the country has lurched, I harken back to my childhood in Indiana and later Florida. When a R state elects somebody like Birch Bayh…and mainstream R like Richard Lugar (I am old enough to remember when he was Mayor of Indianapolis) or Phil Sharp, a D who worked across the aisle in key energy and environmental legislation that has provided the foundation of our energy system for the past 40 years, it shows how far we have fallen.

I look at Florida in the same way. Bob Graham, Lawton Chiles, Claude Pepper all D who were widely respected across the entire political spectrum. Even R like Reuben Askew!

There is one theme that runs through it all: looking to make life better for everybody, treat all people the way they deserve to be treated as simple human dignity regardless of who they are or what they believe. On in foreign policy truly looking out for the long term interests of the country (Lugar and Nunn were great exemplars of this).

We lost this starting gradually, then fell off a cliff. The DNC only cares about their own little fiefdom. They have lost sight of the above principles. Until they are all sacked, I have little hope for any change. Thus, we must fight this on our own, bit by bit, find and gather like minded individuals and build it ground up. We cannot wait for the DNC to change.
