Hey there GOP... "you broke it, you bought it.
It's not just Trump, Musk and Putin. It's the whole GOP leadership and those who voted R in 2024
Dear TAT readers,
It’s time for some good ole’ fashioned common-sense about a self-policing concept that I grew up with. Often called the Pottery Barn Rule, the, “if you break it, you buy it” concept is at least as old as I am… very old. I can remember seeing signs expressing this concept from the time I could read, when accompanying my parents into a store. The idea is simple, you are responsible for what you do, especially in regard to harming another human being or their welfare. No one had to enforce this idea in my youth as that nearly all Americans simply adhered to it because of its simplistic justice. Now, we must apply the same logic to Trump and his MAGA controlled, GOP.
So, here’s the premise for today’s relatively short essay; Trump, Putin and Musk, could not be wreaking havoc on our nation and the world, without the full support of today’s anti-American, Republican Party. Anyone with a conscience and considers themselves a principled conservative, has already left the party or refuses to vote for Republicans. The simple fact that the entire GOP Platform, is just a slightly, watered down version of Project 2025, means that every single thing the party does, says or doesn’t do, is based on the Heritage Foundation’s Seditious, Project 2025. Virtually nothing else matters to the current party, regardless of how much you may like your local elected GOP office holders. Again, like the first sentence, this last one is also just plain old-fashioned, common-sense. The bottom-line??? The GOP is breaking our constitutional republic and we must now make them own their actions but highlighting the entire party, as much as we do, Trump, Musk and Vance.
So, we all know how easy it is to despise Trump, Musk, Vance and the rest of the high-profile actors in this horror story, but we cannot protect our republic, if we don’t firmly place all due blame, onto all of the primary players. Today’s GOP is in my professional opinion, the single most dangerous element of our current acute national Trumpian threat. They are the enablers, the narrators of Sedition, the funding element for the corps of Republican Politicians who unceasingly spew conspiracy theories, lies and dishonestly dangerous half-truths and finally, they are the infrastructure of the ongoing coup. They must receive as much blame in the media, as do Trump, Musk, Vance and Putin. Let me be perfectly and painfully clear, the GOP may be Republican, but they are not, conservatives.
For example, two of the most significant constitutional threats in the administration’s Project 2025 agenda, are the violation of the Establishment Clause within the First Amendment, regarding separation of church and state and the relocation of power from three, co-equal branches of government into the Executive Branch. No credible legal analysis would support the “emergency declaration” about the Southern Border, empowering Trump to impose tariffs. Congress has the absolute authority to decide on tariff decisions. No principled conservative would allow the creation of a superior branch of government, solely because it is unconstitutional. The current congress, led by Republicans in both the House and Senate, have made no objection or raised an alarm, that yesterday’s, Day of Liberation, was a gross constitutional violation. In fact, congress has the power to stop the tariff/ trade war but refuses to act.
As we all know from tonight’s news, the stock market has lost approximately 3 trillion dollars in value over just the last few days. Where the hell is Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson or Senate Majority leader, John Thune?
Then there’s the case of dismantling the Department of Education, which also requires the support of congress. Yep, more silence from the GOP. The assault on DEI and the actions taken against immigrants, legal or otherwise, veterans, the VA, the defunding of countless programs without the required, congressional approval, this all occurs because the GOP is complicit in this coup. More silence. This list could go on and on for pages, but I have simply used the points above as examples.
Then there’s the racism, hate, corruption and the ignoring of our laws that really irks the majority of principled Americans, right, left or otherwise. I have long claimed and stand by my assertion that there is only so far you can poke a patriotic American in a way that threatens true American values, before they respond angrily and decisively.
Pearl Harbor was one such event. The Civil War was a fight that in many ways, is the same fight that we are fighting today. One side defending the Union and the constitution that defines it, against oligarchical, white Christian Nationalism, and political violence. The violence over equality though, did not end in 1865 but reared its ugly head again most pointedly during the Civil Rights Era and now again, with our entire government, run by the GOP. It is my opinion, that most major, historical protests, are over what the GOP now calls, DEI. This is utterly un-American. The GOP is taking us at least a century, backwards.
The point of this paragraph, is that I believe that after the devastation of everyone’s 401K and chaotic lives imposed by draconian, illegal and unconstitutional acts by Trump and Musk, are pushing us very close to that “line that cannot be crossed.”
Protest is as American as apple pie and baseball. It is the way that we impress upon selectively deaf politicians that they are on thin ice. There have been long, powerful protests throughout American history, dating at least to the Boston Tea Party. Then of course, there were protests for women’s suffrage, civil rights, labor, anti-war, gay rights, immigration etc. Our answer to Trump is to go into the streets and tell the cowardly GOP congressmen and senators that they failed, and their livelihood is at stake.
It is everyone’s duty of citizenship to decide which side of history that they wish to end up on. Today’s GOP is now hiding from constituents. To add insult to injury, yesterday the GOP led senate, announced that they will begin working on trillions of dollars of tax cuts, almost exclusively for the so-called, one percent.
My friends and fellow citizens, if we don’t act like patriotic Americans now, and protest until we win, there will be only two potential outcomes, loss of the republic or a civil war. I am so sorry to have to write this last sentence, but I believe this to be true, based on my long experience with operations against such enemies and my long-held habit of deep research from credible sources. Either outcome will deprive you, me, our children and grandchildren of their American birthright, just so a handful of powermongers can dishonestly grow their control and wealth.
It is time for us all to just be Americans that respect our constitution and the republic it provides the foundation for. The only path forward is to protest and ensure that not one sitting Republican is reelected or is forced from office early, the sooner the better. As described in my previous series about the ongoing coup, the answer is to organize, unify, and act. It’s not all about social media. If you want to impose real pressure on enabling GOP congressmen, nothing works like a huge demonstration outside their offices, massive letter-writing campaigns to their DC and district offices and by all means, invite media to the largest extent possible. Like the late congressman, John Lewis said, “get into good trouble.”
If businesses in your community donate to the Republican Party, stop patronizing them. The national brands don’t matter as much at this stage of the game, as the campaign donors in your own congressional district. Where social media warriors make a difference, is by doing two things: continuously messaging about the immoral, unconstitutional and illegal actions of the GOP and secondly, message aggressively pre, during and post demonstrations. The key here is to do something highly visible in order to give the media the story you want them to have. Make the media come to you by questioning their absence, if in fact that is the case. No media can resist covering loud, boisterous protests demanding morality from the dishonest and immoral, like today’s GOP.
The bottom-line to all of this, is that we must blame the party that enables fascism and usher them out of office. It won’t take much because both the senate and house have razor thin margins. We cannot do this “later.” This is our task tomorrow and until this Republican nightmare is over and that won’t be anytime soon.
If I can help formulate responses, messaging and especially narratives, I will gladly do so. Connecting groups, movements and organizations to unify is something that we all must do. Remember this though… the GOP broke the nation and now, we must make them own it!
Onward patriots and best for your weekend.
Paul
