The NFL has lost its mind and dignity, by honoring a racist antisemite, like Charlie Kirk!

Be warned, mini-rant follows

Today is but a short, simple mini-rant. The NFL has now joined the ranks of the cowardly mainstream press and a third of American voters, by allowing teams to honor a man whose entire legacy is dishonesty, racism and antisemitism in support of the ongoing coup in Washington D.C.

America is now what we would joke about around the barracks as, “certifiable,” as in certifiably nuts! We’ve all watched, read, heard and seen Charlie Kirk spew incessant lies about America and its values for over a decade. There is no “two-sides” to today’s MAGA Republican Party. Their entire platform is built on lies and conspiracy theories in support of their Project 2025 coup, and yet, Media, corporations, sports teams and universities treat them as if they are an equal partner in our republic. WTH?!!!

What the hell is wrong with people that think it’s okay to treat the far-right ideology of The four horsemen of the MAGA Apocalypse: Autocracy, Oligarchy, Christian Nationalism and Political Violence, as if it were just more politics. Are Republicans and business owners so cowed by the fascists in the White House, that they now refuse to even acknowledge reality. Newsrooms euphemistically use the word “conservatives” when the proper term would be, far-right extremists. The NFL, now supports the same by tacitly allowing a person that would be considered a domestic terrorist under normal conditions, to be honored as if he were some person of importance and relevance to our nation. That he deserves such honors, is the rough equivalent of calling Jeffery Dahmer, a Vegan.

I feel like I’m living in one of those cheesy 1960s sci-fi movies my friends and I would watch on Friday nights during our time in elementary school. Poor costume design, laughable sets and dialogue by a combination of Hitler, Stalin, Putin and Capone, is our current horror flick, called the Trump administration. Truly, will the NFL prostitute themselves even more by tolerating such insanity? The very reason that we have a constitutional republic rather than a democracy, is that the “mob” cannot be trusted to make moral decisions, or even to be familiar with reality at all.

Where the hell is the moral spine of all Americans, left, right or otherwise, that they walk around terrified of these schoolyard bullies? This republic would have never have survived had we historically been as cowardly as a nation, as we are right now. All that I can tell the NFL is, “kiss my grits.” Like all sports, entertainment and business now, there is an absence of patriotism and courage that allows these bullies to force us to normalize fascism. Not me. Not on my watch. Even the DNC is in hiding, counting their money and watching our republic fold, like a cheap suit.

Well I can tell you this, I will see this through until either we vanquish the fascists or they vanquish us. Millions of men and women have served their nation, just to sustain our republic. I count a couple dozen in my family alone. We aren’t quitters or cowards. Those we’ve served with and maintain relationships with, aren’t quitters either. I even still believe that by far, more Americans are also in this to win it, but are waiting on a leader. Let me be clear, no leader exists at the moment and we’ll have to do this ourselves. We did it at Bunker Hill (actually Breed’s Hill), at Shiloh, San Juan Hill, the Marne, Bastogne, the Chosin Reservoir, Que San, Baghdad, Kabul and more. They didn’t quit then and we mustn’t quit now either.

As far as I’m concerned, I’m done with NFL and will boycott the rest of the season. Besides, I like College Football better anyway. As we say in the military when we boot someone unworthy out or off the team, “don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.” Hey Roger Goodell and the NFL, see the sentence above!
