To stop the MAGA GOP coup, we must do three things right now.

Today’s edition is short and sweet. It is the three most basic things that must be done, to push the Republican coup, back under the dark, dank rock, it crawled out from under. As I have been writing for the past month, opposition to the Trump, Putin, GOP regime is meandering at best, and this is wasting our narrow window of opportunity to neuter this coup. The protesters are highly motivated but absent leadership. If we do things the DNC’s way, we will not only lose the opportunity but will most likely end up with the same old, tired thinking that they have relied on for decades. In other words, we’ll lose the election and our republic.
Most importantly, the DNC brand is either dead or on life-support, and they refuse to listen to those who would heal them. I discussed all of this in detail, in a long essay that delivered the autopsy, shortly after our November election. To make matters worse, the answer to stopping the coup, is unity, not partisan. Those waving Democratic flags and pushing those garish-yellow, “Occupy Democrats” memes are actually hurting the cause, not helping.
In Narrative Warfare, which not even our national security community understands and which I specialize in, the words, left, liberal, democrat etc. are the propaganda version of waving a red cape at an angry bull. In the thirty plus years of FOX News and similar, anything describing opposition to GOP agendas, has been deeply branded into their thinking will do nothing more than make them rally the troops and fight even harder for their far-right ideology. Even Republicans that are not crazy about the coup, will still rally alongside their fellow Republicans if they feel that the GOP itself is threatened. The GOP is in laymen’s terms, brainwashed.
The 50501 protests, whose leadership is murky at best, is very much wrapped around the precise issues that the GOP, with Russian influence operation’s assistance, see as their primary target. Their agendas are demonstrably some of the most progressive issues and what the GOP has branded for the purpose of influence as “woke.” Globally, “wokeism” is used the same way among other democracies as it is here in the US. It is based on Russian far-right ideology exported around the world, by a Putin regime seeking to destroy democracy and render nations vulnerable via chaos. Yes, the type of chaos used intentionally by the Trump Republican Party. Here at home, that ideology is synonymous with today’s GOP, Project 2025 agenda.
To be crystal clear, I am not saying that progressives should not care about their own special interests, but I do say most emphatically, that they will drag the opposition off the battlefield if they persist in putting their own special interests, over the needs of the nation. I could even care less if they continue to work towards their goals, but not as their primary effort. The only mission that matters at the moment, is saving our republic. Without that republic, they will never achieve their goals. Democracy is a team sport, and, in the Trump/ MAGA era, it is also a contact sport.
We must not give them the chance to rally the troops. That means that we must do to them, what they are attempting to do to honest Americans, regardless of party, pit different elements of the party against each other. Like the Soviets before them, Russian influence operations are designed to pit every type of ethnic, religious, racial or income group against each other, in order to disrupt the unity of our nation. The Soviets planted the seeds of such disruption, well before the second world war. In the Trump era, and a few years before, Putin’s Russia began watering those seeds and now they have grown into the fearsome troll-like monster, consuming our republic.
Disrupting the GOP should be easy to do, but we need a strategy and experience to become successful. We also must do this right now, not tomorrow, next week or next month. Although I abhor the idea of power-hungry, big-money political parties, much like my hero, George Washington, I will gladly assist in removing this fascist regime from power. Yes, I know how and have operated in this field during my career in uniform and against all manner of violent extremist organizations. Today’s GOP is indeed a far-right, domestic, violent extremist organization. This is why I often write these guides to shutting down this version of the GOP. I wish to train the real patriots to do what is required to recover our constitutional republic.
Now… what are those three things I promised you in the headline?
Take the fight directly to the home offices of Republican congressmen and drag your local media along with them.
Media is mostly ignoring protests… this is called cowardice
Protests in town squares are nice, but not as effective as a full-frontal assault (rhetorically) on GOP congressmen that are apparently in the “Witness Protection Program” and hiding out.
There is only a 2-seat margin of error in the House of Representatives and many GOP congressmen are in swing districts. Put loud and massive protests on their doorstep! All congressmen begin looking at the next election, the moment the last one is over. Most in swing districts are in very deep and hot water at the moment. Let them feel the heat.
Never make this a partisan political party fight. This is a key component. Make this about restoring our constitutional republic period! No hedging on this. It’s the glue that allow disparate elements of US society together to restore our republic.
Find a leader like USN ADM (R) William McRaven or his peers, to lead a unified party of true patriots, regardless of political views.
Okay, maybe I’m bias in favor of ADM McRaven because he was twice my commander and in two different roles.
He is as good as it gets, as a leader. He has excellent foresight and has led at the very highest level, with honor, morality, pragmatism and truth. He can and will get the job done, if we give him our support.
Summary
Yes, I promised this would short and sweet, and for once, I am not writing a book for an essay ;). We are at a phase in our history where we must operate smartly, efficiently and with agility. We must operate on truth and within our constitutional guardrails and finally, we must operate with massive numbers… loudly. I know that we can win this Civil War, 2.0 if we adhere to sound leadership and principles, just as our founders did, 250 years ago last weekend. The Trump Republicans may have started this war, but it is us, the real American patriots that will finish it with a win. That is what real patriots do.
